Account Manager, Chicago

300Brand is looking for an Account Manager to base out of our client site in Chicago. The Account Manager will split their time between working remotely and working at the client site in Chicago’s northern suburbs. The Account Manager will serve as a trusted strategic advisor on communication activities and plans with a focus on corporate communications including internal communications, traditional PR & media relations, and market research. The ideal person for this role will be someone who enjoys paving their own way, thrives in daily face to face interaction with the client, and is a self-starter. As the link between senior management, the client, and account staff, the Account Manager will need to use critical and creative thinking skills to understand the goals of the client and translate those findings to the agency team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with client on strategy building and execution
  • Apply the core tenets of corporate communication to make recommendations that meet the client’s needs and goals
  • Recommend and implement initiatives that manage the target audience’s perception of the client
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with the client and external audiences
  • Oversee day-to-day client projects and/or events to ensure the quality of work meets client’s business objective and provides value
  • Manage account administration duties, such as managing within budget, billing, accounts receivable, and reporting
  • Manage and mentor junior employees
  • Handle special media inquiries
  • Write and review communications materials (e.g., news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters, and pitch letters)
  • Develop materials on complex issues (e.g., Q&A, speeches, collateral materials)
  • Develop and place appropriate stories by and about the client in business, trade, and consumer media as needed
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication between the client and 300Brand
  • Develop complete communications plan for client
  • New business proposal research and support
  • Use critical and creative thinking skills to proactively make suggestions for actionable programs

Other Recommended Qualifications

  • A minimum of seven years professional experience in communications field
  • Public relations agency experience
  • Experience in the technology industry
